摘要: To determine the incidence of posterior vitreous detachment (PVD) in a series patients who have undergone cataract surgery by phacoemulsification. Comparative case A consecutive 149 underwent aged between 50 and 60 years were evaluated this study. Patients identified as being eligible for study recalled an ophthalmic assessment, which included dilated retinal examination. The status was recorded following evaluation slit-lamp biomicroscopy, binocular indirect ophthalmoscopy, B-scan ultrasonography. PVD documented 50.8% pseudophakic eyes compared to 20.8% phakic fellow eyes. This difference statistically significant. Furthermore, greater with axial length 25 mm or those <25 mm. Neodymium: yttrium garnet (Nd:YAG) capsulotomy did not influence prevalence PVD. In eyes, median follow-up interval 77 months (PRD) 4% 6th decade is higher than likely be associated increased risk PRD observed age group.
