摘要: This report examines the relationship between an industrial plant`s vintage and its energy environmental performance. Basic questions related to defining measuring effects of manufacturing industry`s distribution plant-level capacity intensity are explored in general for six energy-intensive sectors (paper, chlorine, nitrogenous fertilizer, aluminum, steel, cement) at four-digit standard classification (SIC) level detail two (steel cement). Results show that greenfield (i.e., newly opened) plants paper, cement industries exhibit low fossil fuel intensities. These results consistent with expectations.
