摘要: The experimental results of the arc lifetime, voltage, cathode spot velocity and erosion structure influenced by surface microstructure for low-current DC vacuum arcs are presented. correlation between voltage instability peak discontinuity in trace has been shown when applying a transversal magnetic field. With increasing roughness, an increase (of about factor 100) lifetime 30% decrease at most, found drawn arc. retrograde motion roughness is significant (a hundred times different most) triggered arcs. mechanism influence on stability discussed.
