摘要: SUMMARY: The effect of area: volume ratio and composition medium on the accumulation diazotizable amine (‘amine’) hypoxanthine yeast 47 growing in biotin-deficient are reported. ‘amine’, isolated from culture filtrates by mercury precipitation separation ion exchange resins, gave Pauly reaction for imidazoles: acid hydrolysis it yielded ribose, glycine, ammonia formic acid, but no phosphate. These properties consistent with view that ‘amine’ is 5-amino-imidazole riboside or a closely related compound. When growth contained 500 μg. l-aspartic acid/ml., instead hypoxanthine, substances accumulated which adenine as only purine. ‘Amine’ may be symptom derangement purine metabolism resulting biotin-conditioned block aspartate synthesis.
