摘要: SUMMARY: The growth of several adenine-independent strains yeasts in defined media containing suboptimal concentrations biotin and relatively high methionine is associated with the formation a pink pigment cells an arylamine culture fluid. Under similar conditions, are not produced by adenine-requiring strain Schizosaccharomyces octosporus. Culture filtrates promote Sch. octosporus adenine-free medium, but lactobacillus responds only after considerable lag. results interpreted to mean that is, or derived from, precursor adenine, whose conversion adenine impaired deficiency biotin.
