摘要: Rapid fluid delivery from ingested beverages is the goal of oral rehydration solutions (ORS) and sports drinks. The aim present study was to investigate effects increasing carbohydrate sodium content upon using a deuterium oxide (D2O) tracer. Twenty healthy male subjects were divided into two groups 10, first group (CHO) second (Na). CHO four different drinks with stepped increase 3% glucose 0% 9% while concentration 20 mmol/L. Na mmol/L 0 60 mmol/l 6%. All contained 3 g D2O. Subjects remained seated for hours after ingestion experimental beverage, blood taken every 5 min in hour 10 hour. Including beverage led significantly greater AUC (19640 ± 1252 δ‰ vs. VSMOW.60 min) than all trials. No (18381 1198 had 6% (16088 1359 (13134 1115 min); beverage. There no difference between beverages. In conclusion showed that when an increased above compromised. However, amount (0–60 mmol/L) did not lead increases delivery.
