摘要: OBJECTIVE: Few studies have examined the time-dependent change in functional recovery along with factors that affect among older hip fracture patients. The focus of this study is to examine predictors community-dwelling people subcapital fractures using longitudinal data analysis methods. DESIGN: A 1-year prospective study. Information was obtained through structured interviews following surgery and at 2, 6, 12 months after hospital discharge from medical chart review. SETTING AND PATIENTS: sample consisted 312 adults, admitted one seven Baltimore area hospitals a fracture, who received either internal fixation or hemiarthroplasty. RESULTS: mixed-effects regression indicates time prefracture physical activities daily living (PADL) had significant association PADL over course 1 year. Among those 85 years older, were disoriented poorer than not disoriented. Also, instrumental (IADL) associated significantly time, IADL function, unsteady gait prefracture, length stay, an institution. type surgical procedure performed recovery. CONCLUSIONS: are related shed light on complexity process rate postsurgical function constant time; patients (without dementia) continues deteriorate compared nondisoriented group; difference trends deterioration most profound oldest-old aged group, older. types recovery.
