摘要: The osmotic swelling in clays has been extensively studied at the physico-chemical scale. present paper addresses question of modelling this phenomenon from mechanical point view. First, classical macroscopic thermodynamic framework for saturated porous continua is extended order to take into account solid-salt interaction through concept activity coefficient salt. micromechanical approach then incorporates pressure which used describing internal forces fluid phase microscopic results a theory interaction, such as e.d.l. theory, can be introduced both approaches. Each them leads identification deviation, chemical origin, Terzaghi's effective stress principle. Besides, allows us clearly differentiate and parts clay materials elasticity.
