Stabilization of cytochrome p450j messenger ribonucleic acid in the diabetic rat

摘要: Cytochrome P450j, an enzyme involved in nitrosamine metabolism, is expressed hepatic, pulmonary, and renal tissues its level elevated ethanol- acetone-treated rats as well diabetic induced by either streptozotocin or alloxan. Although P450j protein substantially all inducing regimens, only mRNA increased 10-fold. Nuclear run-on transcription analysis showed that this increase not due to transcriptional activation but specific stabilization of the mRNA.
