Objective To determine familial environmental contribution to risk for DA. Design Follow-up 9 public databases (1961-2009) siblings and spouses. Setting Sweden. Participants A total of 137 199 sibling pairs 7561 spousal containing a proband with DA matched control probands. Main Outcome Measures recorded medical, legal, pharmacy registry records. Results In best-fit model, which contained significant linear, quadratic, cubic effects, among full DA, relative declined more than 6.0 born within 2 years each other less 4.5 when 10 apart. Controlling age differences pairs, hazard rate affected was older vs younger 1.42 (95% CI, 1.31-1.54). spouse 25.0 1 year registration after 5 years. Conclusions effects by examining only siblings, resemblance significantly greater closer distant age. Older transmitted their vice versa. After one is registered has large short-lived increase risk. These results support strong influences on at various life stages. complete understanding transmission will require knowledge how act interact over development.
