摘要: Metabolic and hormonal responses of eight adult male collared peccaries (Tayassu tajacu) to an ad libitum diet intake, or 25% were examined. Blood samples for hematological, serum-biochemical profiles collected at three week intervals during the nine experiment starting 4 August 1983. Males fed on restricted lost average 26% their body weight trial, compared a slight gain those libitum. Characteristics red white blood cell populations not influenced by with exception mean corpuscular volume, which was consistently lower amongst males diet. Restricted food intake resulted in significantly elevated serum values urea nitrogen, nitrogen:creatinine, index, alpha globulin:beta globulin, gamma globulin:albumin, nonesterified fatty acids, alkaline phosphatase lactate dehydrogenase isozymes (LD1 LD2). lowered total alpha-1 beta beta-1 beta-2 glucose, triglycerides, calcium, magnesium, sodium, chloride, copper triiodothyronine. Serum levels creatinine, protein, albumin, alpha-2 uric acid, bilirubin, cholesterol, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine glutamyltransferase, dehydrogenase, phosphorus, calcium:phosphorus, potassium, iron, zinc thyroxine unaffected level. Semen evaluation indicated spermatogenesis affected dietary restriction despite reductions scrotal circumference ejaculate gel volume. testosterone among after weeks. These data suggest libido might be depressed poor range conditions, while maintenance permit them take immediate advantage improved conditions. analysis metabolic function can provide useful information predicting male's nutritional reproductive condition.
