摘要: Current user interfaces to complex systems suffer from data displays which are increasingly cumbersome since the representation techniques exceed human's perceptual capacity efficiently interpret them. New display dimensions required support in integrating and relating information across representations. Advances technology have made animation a viable alternative. Motion holds promise as perceptually rich efficient dimension but little is known about its properties for display. We summarize types of movement characterization diverse disciplines proposes an initial taxonomy motion application serve framework further empirical investigation into useful dimension.
