The PhoP/Q two-component regulatory system is essential for Xylella fastidiosa survival in Vitis vinifera grapevines

摘要: Abstract Xylella fastidiosa is a gram-negative, xylem-limited plant pathogenic bacterium that causes disease in variety of economically important agricultural crops including Pierce's grapevines. Quorum sensing essential for X. to mediate pathogenicity Vitis vinifera grapevines and subsequent transmission other processes are regulated, varying extent, by two-component regulatory systems. Here, we investigate the role PhoP/PhoQ system, which known be involved survival gram-negative bacterial pathogens plants, humans animals. Using insertional mutagenesis, demonstrate system V. Furthermore, show regulation density-dependent in vitro such as cell–cell aggregation biofilm formation. We attempted complement phoP phoQ using Pax1CM vector but were unsuccessful generating complement. The generated did not completely restore wild-type phenotype although it levels expression when was grown on PD3 media. Our findings presented here responsible regulating
