摘要: The PhoQ/PhoP two-component regulatory system is a major regulator of virulence in the enteric pathogen Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium. It also controls adaptation to low Mg2+ environments by governing expression and/or activity transporters and enzymes modifying Mg2+-binding sites on bacterial cell surface. PhoP modifies ≈3% genes response periplasmic concentration detected PhoQ protein. Genes that are directly controlled protein often differ their promoter structures, resulting distinct levels kinetics inducing signal. regulates large number indirectly: via other transcription factors systems form panoply architectures including transcriptional cascades, feedforward loops use connector proteins modify regulators. These confer properties may be important contributors Salmonella’s lifestyle.
