Davis, Master Science Utah State University, 2010 Major Professor: Dr. Troy Beckert Department: Family, Consumer, Human Development This study examined the relationship between adolescents’ use texting their level identity development, cognitive autonomy, self-esteem. One hundred nineteen University students participated in this filling out a questionnaire that included section designed specifically to learn habits participants, also sections derived from previously existing measures on identity, results show statistical significance age texting. Participants who were 23 years+ sent significantly less than those participants 19-22 years. Areas gender, self-esteem analyzed. Implications these findings for future research discussed. (87 pages)
