摘要: Abstract We report the identification and characterization of a novel C-type lectin gene, named HECL (HGMW-approved symbol CLECSF7 ), that maps close to natural killer gene complex on human chromosome 12p13. Sequence analysis revealed complete open reading frame 549 bp comprising several putative glycosylation phosphorylation sites as well C-terminal carbohydrate-recognition domain. Homology exhibits significant degree divergence from cell receptors comprise complex. These all belong group V superfamily. HECL, however, is most closely related sole II lectins reported map near this region genome, murine Nkcl Mpcl genes. Like Nkcl, expressed in variety hematopoietic types has Ca 2+ -binding site 2. Despite presence critical amino acids for sugar binding 2, does not seem bind carbohydrate. Moreover, first non-receptor-like
