摘要: The growth of submerged cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) fibers from cultured ovules has been investigated. results indicate that exogenous plant hormone levels regulate the induction fiber growth. age at is also important. Cell diameter, wall thickness, and cell length were measured compared with air-grown grown in vivo (produced by plants greenhouse). Various cellwall thickening patterns observed among fibers, while only one predominant cell-wall deposition pattern was produced vivo. diameter about same as but 22% less than grown, It appears secondary thickenings are initiated earlier fibers. thickness 41 d post anthesis (DPA), 51% greater vivo, whereas 42% approximately half two-thirds affects outcome fiber-cell length, does not appear to affect cells. To produce growth, we found optimal 0 DPA, medium (with a GA3 0.5 μM an IAA range 5-20 μM) depends on time ovule (−2 to+2DPA). We conclude conditions leading have great potential for (a) direct monitoring making precise, detailed measurements during development; (b) producing cellulose vitro more efficiently ovule-culture methods; (c) using these unique cultures obtain better understanding signal transduction gene expression development, programmed death life history fiber.
