摘要: Abstract Objectives Intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) is a common practice in spinal surgery, mostly during pedicle screw placement. However, there not enough information about the factors that can interfere with IONM data. One of these may be existing damage nerve root whose function must preserved. The main purpose present study to evaluate effect chronic compression lumbar roots terms stimulation thresholds direct stimulation. Patients and methods Direct electrical was performed 201 procedures under general anaesthesia 80 patients different pathologies. Clinical radiological data were reviewed order establish presence compression. Results Chronically compressed showed higher threshold than non (11.93 mA vs. 4.33 mA). This difference confirmed intra-subject comparison (paired sample t test, p = 0.012). No other clinical associated this roots. Conclusion A needs taken into consideration placement, where intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring being used.
