摘要: The NELUP Nitrogen Modelling System (NMS) has been developed to model the transport of nitrates within large catchments. It is one component a suite hydrological models that have integrated with ecological and agroeconomic in Decision Support System. NMS designed be applied four stages: determination nitrogen input categories; simulation plant uptake decay using farm management EPIC; initial nitrate profiles unsaturated zone one-dimensional (MP); finally SHETRAN-UK catchment flow modelling system. The 3000 km2 Tyne basin for period 1985–1989. Predicted in-stream concentrations throughout display low base concentration peaks corresponding overland events following fertiliser application. Model results compare favourably available monthly NRA observation data at number different locations catchment. A short field study undertaken which demonstrates occurrence events, hitherto undocumented process.
