摘要: Abstract A high-cholesterol diet caused in rabbits a great increase β-migrating VLDL and significant decrease HDL 2 (43% of normal) 3 masses (64% normal), without changes cholesterol values. Chemical analysis the subfractions indicated an abnormal lipid—protein composition hypercholesterolemic rabbits, contents triglycerides phospholipid. When these were treated for about 1 month with pantethine, intermediate precursor coenzyme A, levels was effectively prevented β-VLDL (11%) LDL fractions (43%) but, conversely, HDL-cholesterol significantly increased (151%). In separate experiment, calculated to be 186% 193%, respectively, by pantethine treatment, when compared those control cholesterol-fed rabbits. Serum apolipoprotein AI antigen also treatment.
