摘要: High-mass X-ray binaries (HMXBs) might have contributed a non-negligible fraction of the energy feedback to interstellar and intergalactic media at high redshift, becoming important sources for heating ionization history Universe. However, importance this contribution depends on hypothesized increase in number HMXBs formed low-metallicity galaxies their luminosities. In work we test aforementioned hypothesis, quantify metallicity dependence HMXB population properties. We compile from literature large set data sizes luminosities populations nearby with known metallicities star formation rates. use Bayesian inference fit simple Monte Carlo models that describe size luminosity populations. find are typically ten times more numerous per unit rate (12 + log(O/H) < 8, namely 20% solar) than solar-metallicity galaxies. The is small compared size. Our results support hypothesis galaxies, implying need investigate form X-rays energetic mass outflows these high-energy during cosmic dawn.
