摘要: Abstract The ratio of ankle-to-arm systolic blood pressure (ankle/arm index or AAI) appears to be a non-invasive indicator flow-significant atherosclerosis and may useful measure burden disease in high risk population. prevalence lower extremity arterial (LEAD) was assessed by this method the Systolic Hypertension Elderly Program (SHEP). Subjects were aged 60 older with greater than 160 mmHg upon entry study. An AAI 0.90 less considered indicative LEAD,. LEAD 26.7% ( 50 187 ), while intermittent claudication (IC) only 6.4% 12 ). Of those IC, 66.7% 8 ) had confirmed LEAD. as measured increased age women associated history current smoking levels density lipoproteins. In study population hypertension, LEAD, AAI, is more prevalent previously described elderly populations other factors for atherosclerosis.
