Vasectomy: Consequences of Autoimmunity to Sperm Antigens

摘要: Data from studies examining the effects of vasectomy in a large number nonhuman primates vasectomized for periods ranging up to 14 years are summarized and these findings speculations used as framework with which review subject autoimmunity vasectomy. Attention is directed sperm antigens following (factors affecting antisperm antibody levels characteristics circulating antibodies seminal plasma cellular immunity vasectomy) immunopathology (local on male reproductive tract systemic tract). The 6 hypotheses that have been advanced explain individual variations dynamics types produced reviewed. 3 tests commonly detect free after vasectomy: 1) spermagglutination test; 2) immobilization 3) immunofluorescence test. Spermagglutinating (SA) most common type occur approximately 2/3 men majority rhesus monkeys. Sperm-immobilizing (SI) also percentage (40%) About 30% antiprotamine antibodies.
