摘要: 1 Concanavalin A covalently bound to acrylic polymer particles (enzacryl AA), which cannot enter the cells, stimulated rat lymphocytes into DNA synthesis. 2 Evidence was obtained that concanavalin binds lymphocyte membrane specifically through its sugar-binding sites. No nonspecific adsorption found. 3 The equilibrium constant found for binding of cell 12 μ−1 at 37°C and 3°−l 0°C. heterogeneity in affinity sites detected. The average maximum number molecules (Mol. wt 108000) could be about 5 ×106 per cell. 4 Optimum stimulation synthesis when 5%, available on cells were occupied by A.
