Bowtie loaded meander antenna for a high-temperature superconducting terahertz detector and its characterization by the Josephson effect

摘要: In a quasi-optical system, the high temperature superconducting terahertz detector often suffers from fundamental problem of low coupling efficiency with signal, especially for based on YBa2Cu3O7-δ (YBCO) bicrystal Josephson junction (JJ) due to small normal-state resistance. Here, we developed bowtie loaded meander antenna enhance efficiency. Differing conventional characterization confining vector network analyzers, applied three methods evaluate antenna, including measurements maximal size first order Shapiro step under per incident power, between and junction, voltage responsivity. Furthermore, simulation analysis, propose that inductive reactance YBCO JJ is around 60 ohms irradiation at 210 GHz, thus, comparable as antenna.
