摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the cellular mechanisms of signal transduction that is wingless/Wnt-1 signaling. During development multicellular organisms, cells acquire information instructs them to differentiate according their specific position within body. The establishment and implementation this positional depends on cell communication pathways underlie communication. Drosophila segment polarity gene wingless ( wg ) its vertebrate homologue Wnt-1 signaling molecules specify fates in mouse embryos. first identified by a weak mutation disrupts adult cuticular structures, such as wing blade. Subsequently, null mutations are obtained found result embryonic lethality with severe pattern defects structures secreted epidermal cells. Both encode proteins features typical growth factors. They rich cysteine residues have sequence followed consensus peptidase cleavage site at amino-termini.
