摘要: This paper describes the evaluation of software, software designed to allow visually impaired users explore structures chemical molecules using a speech based presentation. Molecular are typically presented as two dimensional schematics, and an important example widely used form diagram -- graph. is for exploring this specific class Among its features ability recognise make explicit graph that would otherwise need be inferred. The compared with simpler version without facility, found participants were able molecular more easily. We discuss results, particularly comparing them theoretical considerations about how sighted readers use diagrams. Finally, we extract issues non-visual presentation: making implicit explicit; enabling hierarchical connection-based browsing; allowing annotation; helping keep their orientation.
