摘要: Author(s): Pozzi, Alessandro; Tallarico, Marco; Moy, Peter K | Abstract: PurposeThe study aims to evaluate clinically the thickness of alveolar ridge mucosa underneath a zirconia implant-supported restoration with modified ovate pontic.Materials and methodsSixty-five patients, 32 women 33 men (mean age: 65.5 years; range 38-81), were included. A total 383 implants (303 in maxilla; 80 mandible), supporting 81 full or partial fixed dental prostheses (65 16 either cement- screw-retained. Three years after loading, 219 pontic sites (153 66 mandible) measured, between prosthetic surface underlying bone crest recorded.ResultsThe overall implant prosthesis survival rates at 3 98.7% 100%, respectively. No complications reported, scoring cumulative success rate 100%. In maxilla, mean was 2.32 ± 0.57 mm. mandible, 2.20 0.62 There no statistical difference values maxilla mandible (p = .471).ConclusionThis radiologic retrospective suggests existence physiological barrier, named biological width, novel pontic-designed restoration.
