摘要: Biodiversity in managed forests depends on management practices that determine the forest structure. The influence of stand structure centipede diversity was investigated by comparing communities from different development phases. Using quadrat counts method, soil samples were taken thrice during 2000 (in spring, summer and autumn) a deforested area three evenly aged beech stands (juvenile, pole timber phases) Slovenia. characteristics similarities among them estimated. collection comprised 1150 centipedes representing 32 species. At single site, 10–24 species found. average density between 22 808 individuals per m2. Differences sites highest number abundance found juvenile phase lowest area. occurrence differed phases, but none with high incidence one restricted to phase. composition community more sensitive successional status than season. A comparison differently structured made, which suggests homogenisation leads reduced diversity. To preserve biodiversity healthy functioning, maintenance heterogeneity within should be an important focus operations.
