摘要: A refined in vivo artificial wound model utilizing fluid (AWF) was developed to overcome important limita tions such as adhesive-skin interactions, movement, pressure, shear, and varying environmental conditions vitro models. Using this model, a study with primary endpoints of wear time handling capacity conducted compare two foam dressings: high performance (HPF) dressing an adhesive (AAF). 10-cm 2 bed, created using nonstick absorbent pad, applied the lower back 24 healthy volunteers tip 23-gauge catheter inserted into pad administer AWF. The were secured place paper tape covered test dressings. This 1.0-mL AWF infusions every 12 hours used simulate highly exudating wounds. HPF absorbed 75% more before failure remained intact for median 6.1 days compared 3.5 AAF (P <0.001, Cox proportional hazard model). Comparisons between outcomes previously published results suggest may be valid reliable. Studies ascertain ability predict clinical research other that affect change frequency cost (eg, healing) are needed.
