摘要: Antibiotic activity was isolated from the culture supernatant of myxobacterium Myxococcus fulvus strain Mx f65. It active against Gram-positive bacteria (MIC 0.3 approximately 5 micrograms/ml), at higher concentrations also Gram-negative ones 6 100 and not all yeasts molds. The could be resolved into 4 closely related peptides, myxovalargins. One them, myxovalargin A, by far most plentiful. compounds appear to new antibiotics seem interfere with protein synthesis.
