摘要: Health workforce planning is important in ensuring that the recruitment, training and deployment of health workers are conducted most efficient way possible. However, many developing countries, human resources for data limited, inconsistent, out-dated, or unavailable. Consequently, policy-makers unable to use reliable make informed decisions about workforce. Computerized information systems (HRIS) enable countries collect, maintain, analyze data. The purpose this article twofold. First, we describe Uganda's transition from a paper filing system an electronic HRIS capable providing country-specific questions. We examine ongoing five-step strengthening process used implement tracks worker at Uganda Nurses Midwives Council (UNMC). Secondly, how can be address questions via initial analysis UNMC training, licensure registration records 1970 through May 2009. indicate that, 25 482 nurses midwives who entered before 2006, 72% graduated, 66% obtained council registration, 28% license practice.
