摘要: The synchronous discovery of leiomyosarcoma (LMS) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) the larynx is extremely rare. We describe our experience managing a patient with this unusual presentation. A 35-year-old man was initially diagnosed advanced stage (T4bN1M0) laryngeal LMS. Neoadjuvant sarcoma-directed chemotherapy radiation therapy allowed successful pharyngolaryngo-oesophagectomy to be performed in an otherwise inoperable cancer. Histological examination resection specimen revealed poorly differentiated SCC, indicating underlying diagnosis sarcomatoid larynx. Considering limited LMS SCC larynx, it important carefully evaluate natural history, route spread pathological characteristics both tumours, when determining treatment.
