Uncertainty Orientation and the Big Five Personality Structure

摘要: Abstract The present study investigated the relationship between uncertainty orientation construct (Sorrentino & Short, 1986) and Big Five personality structure. As predicted, was related to only Openness Experience factor not Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, or Neuroticism. Discriminant convergent validity for using Six-Factor Personality Questionnaire (6FPQ; Jackson Paunonen, in press) demonstrated. Uncertainty also positively correlated with NEO-PI-R measure (Costa McCrae, 1992). both components of (need master Authoritarianism) tapped distinct aspects provided unique variance predicting as measured by 6FPQ. implications nature are discussed.
