Photoelectric Properties of Mg2Si, Mg2Ge, and Mg2Sn II. UV Excitation

摘要: In the previous paper (I) energy distribution spectra of photoelectrons (XPS) and Auger electrons (AES) excited with AlKα radiation in Mg2Si, Mg2Ge, Mg2Sn were presented. Here similar measurements are reported performed He resonant (48.4, 40.8, 21.2 eV). The effect surface contamination by O2 or H2O is shown to be very important these UPS results meaningful material under study can only obtained if such kept less than 0.2 monolayers. strong structure which appears clean samples has been identified as related compounds MgO Mg(OH)2. materials yield information about densities valence states outermost d Ge Sn core. Very accurate values for corresponding spin-orbit splittings chemical shifts obtained. In einer fruheren Arbeit wurden die Energieverteilungsspektren von Photoelektronen und Auger-Elektronen (AES), mit AlKα-Strahlung Mg2Ge angeregt wurden, mitgeteilt. Ahnliche Messungen, He-Resonanzstrahlung (48,4,40,8 21,2 eV) durchgefuhrt werden hier vorgestellt. Der Einflus Oberflachenkontamination durch oder ist sehr bedeutend diesen UPS-Spektren, aussagefahige Ergebnisse fur untersuchten Materialien lassen sich nur erhalten, wenn solche Verunreinigungen auf weniger als 0,2 Monoschichten gehalten werden. Die ausgepragte Struktur, reinen Proben auftritt, wurde identifiziert verknupft den Verbindungen UPS-Spektren der liefern Informationen uber Dichten Valenzzustande ausersten d-Elektronen Geund Sn-Rumpfe. Es genaue Werte entsprechenden Spin—Bahnaufspaltungen chemischen Verschiebungen erhalten.
