摘要: Objectives HIV-infected adults are considered to be at higher risk for influenza A H1N1 complications but data supporting this belief lacking. We aimed compare epidemiological data, clinical characteristics, and outcomes of infection between HIV-infected -uninfected adults. Methods From 26 April 6 December 2009, each adult presenting with acute respiratory illness the emergency department our institution was an diagnosis by specific multiplex real-time polymerase chain reaction. For every diagnosed, three consecutive not known diagnosed in same calendar week were randomly chosen as controls. Results Among 2106 tested, 623 (30%) had confirmed. Fifty-six (9%) HIV-positive compared 168 HIV-negative controls. Relative controls, patients older, more frequently male, smokers (P≤0.02). In group, prior or current AIDS-defining events reported 30% patients, 9% CD4 counts 0.05). Conclusions HIV did increase severity infection, have a major effect on HIV infection.
