摘要: Khan Al-Zabeeb, an irrigated cultivated area lies above a superficial uranium deposits, is regularly used to produce vegetables and fruits consumed by the public. Both soil plant samples collected from study were investigated for their natural radioactivity determine uptake crops hence estimate effective dose equivalent human consumption. Concentrations of (238)U, (235)U, (232)Th, (226)Ra, (222)Rn, (137)Cs (40)K in nine profiles measured gamma-ray spectrometry whereas watermelon zucchini analyzed content means alpha after radiochemical separation. Correlations between radionuclides made activity ratios determined evaluate geochemical behavior profiles. Calculated soil-plant transfer factors indicate that green parts (leaves, stems roots) studied tend accumulate about two orders magnitude higher than fruits. The maximum ingestion 1 kg pulp was estimated be 3.1 4.7 nSv y(-1) (238)U (234)U, respectively. Estimations annual due external exposure showed extremely low values. Radium hazard index seen exceed permissible limits 370 Bq kg(-1) 1,
