摘要: The age threshold of 14 years is relevant in Italy as the minimum for criminal responsibility. It utmost importance to evaluate diagnostic accuracy every odontological method evaluation considering sensitivity, or ability estimate true positive cases, and specificity, negative cases. research aims compare specificity sensitivity four commonly adopted methods dental estimation - Demirjian, Haavikko, Willems Cameriere a sample Italian children aged between 11 16 years, with an using receiver operating characteristic curves area under curve (AUC). In addition, new decision criteria are developed increase methods. Among research, showed highest AUC both female male cohorts. shows high degree at years. To adopt 14-year more accurately, however, it suggested according Youden index that criterion be set lower value 12.928 females 13.258 males, obtaining 85% 88% females, 77% 92% males. If level >90% needed, cut-off point should 12.959 (82% sensitivity) females.
