摘要: Two, deep (24 s), multi-channel seismic reflection profiles, each >200 km in length, were shot across the Pripyat Trough, a Late Devonian rift basin Belarus, 1980s by Polessian Geophysical Expedition of former Soviet Union. Additional post-stack processing and migration on one these, Profile VIII, has been applied at Uppsala University allows re-evaluation crustal structure Trough with particular focus deeper parts. Previous interpretations showed numerous steeply dipping faults extending from surface to depths 30–40 sometimes penetrating into mantle, which was defined be located top reflective zone beginning about 10 s TWT. This zone, recorded 16 TWT, interpreted as mixture mantle rocks. Based original stacked section further is reinterpreted lower crust, not upper Moho identified 45–50 (about 15 TWT). The major bounding appear listric depth sole crust rather than truncated it. newly consistent model continental rifting involving brittle failure thick layer ductile shear lowermost some degree detachment between within layer.
