Further observations on the glycoproteins in human ovarian cyst fluids

摘要: An examination has been made of a number ovarian cyst fluid glycoproteins that are sparingly soluble water but similar in general composition to the readily blood-group specific glycloproteins obtained from same source. Ultracentrifugal analysis approx. 0.1% w/v solutions materials indicate they have much larger sedimentation coefficients (S20,w) and molecular weights than water-soluble glycoproteins. The substances more total amino acids proportionally aspartic glutamic cystine less serine threonine mostly dissolve buffered (pH 6.8–7.0, 0.05 M) thioglycolate, sulphite or cysteine, reagents bring about scission -S-S-bonds. behaviour properties suggest arise through building up relatively small macromolecules formation -S-S- intermolecular associations. A ways whereby these could occur discussed.
