Performance evaluation of a transport layer solution for seamless vertical mobility

摘要: Major research challenges in the next generation of wireless networks include provisioning worldwide seamless mobility across heterogeneous network interfaces and improvement end to quality service. The integration interoperability multitude available will lead towards emergence fourth networks. In this paper we introduce a transport layer solution that supports roaming mobile host without any necessary modifications underlying data link layers. A modified version new IETF protocol, SCTP, is shown improve handoff latency delay. Using simulation results, show noticeable performance possible by monitoring accessible networks, making appropriate decisions. Furthermore, prove higher level user preferences context awareness can be achieved with employment our scheme.
