摘要: Abstract In an editorial in the February 1996 issue of Technological Forecasting and Social Change Professor Linstone noted that “the rapid pace technology has not been matched by human change.” Were we to drop our perspective a bit lower, similarly troublesome imbalance within itself becomes apparent: rate increase complexity process-related technologies relative much slower sophistication process control systems. The conclusion at which most technological forecasts seem arrive is there will be continuation—perhaps even acceleration—of trend toward more intricate sweepingly extensive processes (production-related otherwise). If so, specter steadily increasing shortfall between requirements capabilities, hence likelihood grander embarrassments. This article considers two ways this might kept check. Increases intricacy can met, considerable extent are already being exchanging conventional facilities for enhanced alternatives. Less certain how expansions project scope best accommodated. One possibility consider systems broader-purview management Hence focus on prospects development macrocybernetic constructs.
