摘要: • One hundred fourteen serially sectioned, nonirradiated, laryngeal specimens that were removed for cancer have been examined to determine the accuracy of preoperative staging. Characteristics primary lesion, which indicate invasion framework, demonstrated each region in larynx. Pathologic findings, such as submucosal extension, growth into preepiglottic space, infraglottic and involvement ventricle, correlated with clinical The relationship between tumor size staging has evaluated. For multiregional lesions, location yielded highest probability metastasis was designated site. Our findings inaccurate 37% glottic tumors, 38% supraglottic 50% transglottic 13% subglottic lesions. In 89% cases staged inaccurately, error one underestimation. Depth most difficult measurement determine. ( Arch Otolaryngol 105:157-159, 1979)
