摘要: Ultrastructural investigations of P. falciparum cultivated in vitro human erythrocytes revealed new features the feeding mechanism parasite. Mature trophozoites and schizonts take up a portion host cytosol by endocytosis which is restricted to cytostomes involves invagination both parasitophorous parasite membranes. The resulting endocytic vesicles, surrounded two concentric membranes, migrate towards central food vacuole membrane. external membrane vesicles apposes that vacuole, leading internalization bounded single into vacuolar space where they are rapidly degraded. We conclude from this sequence events fuse with vacuole. Treatment infected cells therapeutic concentrations chloroquine inhibited last step process, i.e. degradation. This was manifested accumulation within intact implications these findings for antimalarial activity discussed.
