摘要: Abstract Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is an age-related disorder in the intact male dog that associated with increase size. Ultrasonography gives a reliable estimate of size, but method for screening prostate size using serum sample has advantages, such as requiring less expensive equipment. The primary aim study was to association between concentration circulating biomarker canine specific esterase (CPSE) and Seventy-nine dogs were four years old or older included study. used calculating volume prostate. calculated divided by normal aged one years, determine relative size: relation 1–4 (S rel ). CPSE analyzed from samples. Multiple linear regression analysis studying associations variables. Prediction intervals based on concentrations calculated, receiver operating curves predicting S . contour (P   ≥ 2.5. A 200 ng/mL predicted 2.5 (95% P.I: 1.2–4.8). Based ROC analysis, optimal discrimination threshold  ≥ 2.5 estimated 90 ng/mL confidence interval: 50–140), sensitivity 85% specificity 72%. Screening potential value aging dogs. Although many show no clinical signs, insidious nature BPH supports further investigations these dogs, corresponding approximately higher.
