A Place for Theoretical Inconsistency

摘要: The current article articulates how the expectation of theoretical consistency can be constraining for qualitative researchers. author considers origins tradition consistency, and suggests that postmodern research – particularly which focuses on social justice might in fact served by considering possibilities emerge from multiple perspectives. To illustrate application contribution inconsistency, three concrete examples these ideas have been applied within studies are discussed. By pragmatically drawing connections across differences, it is hoped researchers will engage critically with their own commitments assumptions, thus opening themselves up to new creative ways coming together.
