摘要: The aortic arch and its branches are a common location for the development of atherosclerosis. Similar to atherosclerosis in other areas arterial tree, pathology ranges from mild, nonocclusive intimal thickening complex atheromata. Complex atheromatous plaques may evolve size large enough encroach upon lumen, thereby restricting flow, or they be complicated by intraplaque hemorrhage, ulceration discharge debris, surface thrombosis. Well-established clinical risk factors include family history, aging, cigarette smoking, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes.
