摘要: Abstract purpose: We studied a group of patients with polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) or without biopsy-proven giant cell arteritis (GCA) in order to determine the prevalence anticardiolipin antibodies (aCL) these disorders and their association vascular complications. methods: The study consisted 50 patients, 30 PMR alone 20 associated GCA. Determinations IgG IgM aCL by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were done age- sexmatched healthy control subjects. also measured von Willebrand factor (vWF) antigen, Creactive protein, erythrocyte sedimentation rate. results: Twenty-four (48%) had aCL. Eleven positive for five IgM, whereas eight both. In alone, only (26.6%) aCL, while 16 (80%) GCA (p conclusion: This demonstrates that are prevalent These might imply severe damage could play an important role pathogenesis vasculopathy observed this disease.
