摘要: Effluent and relevant soil samples from 38 tanning units housed in Kasur, Pakistan, were obtained for metal analysis by flame atomic absorption spectrophotometric method. The levels of 12 metals, Na, Ca, K, Mg, Fe, Mn, Cr, Co, Cd, Ni, Pb Zn determined the two media. data evaluated towards distribution metal-to-metal correlations. study evidenced enhanced Cr (391, 16.7 mg/L) Na (25,519, 9369 tannery effluents samples, respectively. effluent versus trace content relationship confirmed that was strongly correlated with Cr. For source identification techniques principal component analysis, cluster applied. yielded factors effluents: factor 1 (49.6% variance) showed significant loading Zn, referring to a related these 2 (12.6% higher loadings Mg associated processes during skin/hide treatment. Similarly, cumulative variance 34.8% samples: manifested contribution Ni Pb, which though soil-based is basically effluent-derived, while found referred tannery-based source. dendograms also support observed results. exhibits gross pollution soils at far exceeding stipulated safe limit laid down effluents.
