Purification of gram quantities of C60. A new inexpensive and facile method

摘要: Abstract : Described is an inexpensive and facile method for the purification of up to gram quantities Of C60. The procedure involves application a saturated toluene solution crude fullerenes column containing Norit(R)-A (alkaline decolorizing carbon or activated charcoal) silica gel (1:2 by weight). Within 37 min, C60 (purple band) begins elute from elution nearly complete within 1.2 h afford 63% yield (of possible 75% in extractable fullerenes) with >98% purity.
